Watch Strap parted & watch was lost

Hi,

I don't know if anyone else has had an issue but I had a 945 for only three week. I was wearing it alpine skiing, and at some point without any falls or scrapes the watch fell off, no clue or chance to find it.

1/ Has anyone else had problems with the security of the wrist strap and had it fall off?

2/ If you have a new Garmin 945, check the strap as it appears not to be enough to buckle it on and secure the tab under the toggle.

Unfortunately I wasn't coveredby my insurance for the watch, and Garmin refuse to help or even do a deal for another one.

3/ Not impressed by Garmin customer services

Regards watchless

  • My 245 fell off a week ago for no reason. Had it for a year and jumped into the lake and that’s where it’s resting still. Do deep, dark and muddy to find it.

got a Fénix 6 replacement on my own dime. Expensive jump fore sure as I ended up liking the Fénix 6 so much I bought my wife a 6s Joy

ah well. Some lucky *** will hopefully find himself a nice watch one day. I loved it the entire year I had it.

to speculate why - I don’t know. Guess rubber broke when I hit the water or something. Not swimming with my new one now Joy

  • Hah, had the same but with Fenix 5X when jumping to the sea. To deep to recover unfortunately. Expensive jump but from now on I'm not using quick fit straps on my FR945 Slight smile

  • I can attest that this can happen, because it happened to me. My case was a little different however, as I was on rock climbing with my Fenix 5 (not a very smart idea in retrospect). After making a big move, I noticed my watch feeling loose under my long-sleeve shirt, and then the watch fell off. Somehow I was able to recover the strap, and somehow it was fully in-tact and unbroken but also detached from the watch. I really have no idea how the watch became disconnected from BOTH end of the quickfit band.
