945 HRM not going over 100 during exercise

Just got a 945. I've tried it 3 times on a cross trainer and I cannot get the wrist based HRM over 100bpm. The machine itself has me up to 150+

Tried both wrists, messed about with tightness etc. Never had any issues with my old 735/935 so it isn't user error.

Before I contact Garmin are there any known bugs or issues with this at present?

If not I'll get a side by side comparison with the 945 and my wife's 735 and see what Garmin say.

Thanks

  • Has this issue presented itself while recording activities in multiple apps, or are you seeing this outside of an activity?

We have an FAQ available that outlines the best practices, and also explains some of the factors that can impact optical heart rate performance. While the 945 does not have an identical optical sensor to the 935 and 735XT, you shouldn't be seeing the issue you've described.

  • Hi,

I've predominently been using a cross trainer (I cant run as I'm injured right now) but I've tried multiple 'activities' to see if I can get it to work.

My next plan is to do a side by side with my wife's 735 to see how that works out.

    Thanks
