Multisports V02 max

Hi,

Im dedicated to long distance running and I really like the V02 Max indicator, lactate treshod and race predictor on my Garmin Device. In summer I also ride on my race bike for recovery rides the day after a very high demanding Interval run on the track. Im very curious if the bike rides, which gave me also give me information about Aerobe and Anaerobe load, will have impact on my V02 max and race predictor and lactate treshold for running?.

Regards,

Ray

  • No - in the sense that the device reports separate VO2max for running and for cycling, and bike rides only generate data against the cycling VO2max...
...but yes in the sense that if your bike rides impact on your fitness, this will be picked up when the watch measures your VO2max (running) during running.
I don't know about lactate threshold/race predictor, but presumably something similar.

  • Thank you for your reply. Makes sense to me, that indirectly is has a positive effect, because you are getting fitter!

I only see one Vo2 max counter on my device. How does it works? Are you getting two Vo2 counters? If you succeed more bike rides? One Vo2 max for running and one for cycling?

  • You need a power meter to get cYcling vo2max

  • Assuming you have different HR zones set up for cycling and running, then you should be able to have different LT for each.
