Forerunner 945 and Pedometer

Hi. During the week I normally train indoor, running on treadmill. With my previous watch (phoenix 5) I use to use a pedometer to have an accurate distance measurement. Now with the 945 I´m not sure if the watch (945) metrics running sensors is enough. No pedometer needed. What do you think?

  • Please be aware that any distance measurements only based on step count strongly rely on correct stride length setting. If you want accurate metrics, you first have to manually calibrate your correct stride length on the treadmill while running in the GCM app.

Apart from that I consider the step counter in the FR945 quite accurate, during normal runs (I guess what most people will do) it will count steps pretty well. If your stride length setting is correct, you will receive a fairly accurate distance.
