Wrong barometric altitude

Hi,

I’m facing the problem with altitude estimation on my Garmin Forerunner 945 when skiing. I went uphill by rope way from 1300 meters to cca 2200 meters. On the top I started the skiing activity and did downhill the slope to 1700 meters. But my Forerunner estimated altitude 290 meters. There is a “jump” on the altimeter and barometer history (see the attachment).

  1. Do you think that is some barometer failure or it could be somehow connected to GPS auto calibration that was switched  on during activity? Any help appreciated.

Thanks Jan
