Just got it using Garmin Express
Hi Blake, do you have more details about improvement from 2.70 and 2.80?
Because seems they have the same changelog:
Maybe it is just a coincidence, but during my first run after the update, (1) the watch seemed to pull my heart rate from the wrist monitor, rather than my Ticker chest strap, even though it said the chest strap was connected (I noticed cadence-lock and fixed it by tightening the watch band), and (2) I couldn't adjust headphone volume using the watch controls. After the run, (3) I had to restart the watch to reconnect to my iphone to download the run; (4) Strava showed the exact same moving and elapsed times (which it never does, since I stop at several traffic lights on my route); (5) the GPS track of the first part of my run was worse than ever (city buildings, so not an easy task). After the restart, the headphone volume control works. (I haven't retested the heart rate monitor.)
when the Forerunner 945 was released it was recommended to use GPS+Glonass for best results because the most work in firmware for the new Sony Chipset was done on this combination.
Did firmware catch up in the meantime for GPS+Galileo?
I ask because I experienced the best results next to German airports with GPS+Galileo with the old chipset in the Fenix 5 and 5+
