While using Coach to prepare for my first half marathon, I've been loading routes onto my 945. After I start the workout (and before I start the timer), I load the course I want to run. The watch then takes about a minute to calculate the course.
This brings me to my first question. What the heck is it calculating? I've already laid out the course I want to run in Garmin Connect and transferred it to the watch. It shouldn't be recalculating the run. I laid it out that way for a reason, not to be second guessed by my watch.
Be that as it may, here's my real complaint. If for any reason the watch thinks I'm off the course, it recalculates the course again. Today the new version was two miles shorter than the one I had loaded. I ended up running random streets to get to my time goal.
How can I get the watch to stop recalculating my run and just run the course I loaded? I really don't want to run while carrying a piece of paper with a printed route. It would get very sweaty, the ink would run, and I'd adding to the landfill after each run.
