Record Gym Session

Hi all, I just bought my new 945. How do I go about basically turning on a session when I start doing a weights session, to record my HR and so on, do basically just record my activity, but without having to input exactly everything I did? I more just want to have it recorded for time, HR, calories etc etc. TIA

  • I think you just pick the "cardio" activity, even if it's not actually cardio :)

  • I've used both "cardio" and "workout."  My impression was that "cardio" gave me a lot more credit - in terms of exercise load and calories burned - which seemed wrong for my actual level of activity, so I've been using "workout."  Your mileage may vary, as they say.

  • I've found that cardio works best for me - you'll get you hr, training effect / load and so on and you don't have to fill in the weights after each set :-). In the end, this kind of activity is just complementary to the tri stuff i'm doing, so I don't religiously track the weights i've used.

  • I looked more closely at my data, and now I think the calories are the same no matter how I coded the activity. (My average heart rate was apparently higher on the earlier activities coded as cardio, which presumably affected the calories.)   I don't see any load data for activities I coded as cardio. I do see load, training effect, and heart rate for workout -- not that it makes much of a difference.
