Virtual Run to Zwift -- Please include incline data from Runn

Hi,

I just did a test with the virtual run activity and Bluetooth forwarding the metrics to Zwift.

When using the Runn device, the incline data is not processed.

When performing the next FW update, please include the "incline" data from Runn.

Better still, here's a feature list of improvements that would be great to implement:

  • add an "incline" sensor in the 945 sensors menu so that the Runn can be added exclusively for its incline information (this would Stryd footpod users to keep using Stryd to log power and cadence via the use of a "footpod")
  • forward the "incline" data from Runn on the Virtual Run activity
  • for Virtual Run or Treadmill activities, calculate an "incline corrected" power from the "incline" information from Runn and Stryd
  • log the elevation gain for Treadmill and Virtual Runs

Thanks !

  • They don't need to include "incline", they need to include ANT FE-C profile the RUNN uses.
When this is done, not only incline from Runn works, but also every other fitness device.

There is no need for an exclusiv incline from RUNN field because the profile is standardized.

The profile was chopped off a few years ago, older watches were able to use it.

  • Hi BeneGi,

    Thanks for the technical details.

My request is from a user perspective.

Today, for example, both Runn and Stryd are "seen’ as footpods (Stryd is also seen as a separate power meter). However, I believe the 945 can only see one footpod at a time. The RunCline app only sees the Runn as a footpod as well, for example. So if you only want incline data from Runn, but the speed/distance data from Stryd, it’s currently not possible.

  • NPE delivers a ConnectIQ Datafield for Incline Data:

Now they only have to publish the firmware update for the RUNN to get Cadence dropouts under control.
