steps - floors

Good Day,

I have Forerunner 945, and i am very happy with everyhing, just something are disturbing:

When i go to the hills, the high is measured in "m" and distance in "km", i don't like the idea of "floors" and "steps". Never was defined that hill is 230 floors high, it was allways in "m" and so on. I know, watch shows "m" and "km", but in main screen and in Connect software is first schowing this "floors and steps". Since is totaly stupid and Useless.

My question is: it's possible to cancel showing this on the watch???

Sorry about my poor english.

Thank you, Lindeman

  • When you say "main screen", do you mean the watch face?  If it bothers you, try the other watch faces that came with the phone, or (better yet) go to the store and download a watch face you really like.  A lot of those faces let you customize what information is displayed.  You can skip seeing floors and steps all you want.

My daughter's pet peeve is the calorie count.  There are so many variables that she really would like to not see it, but it shows up on your activity reports on Garmin Connect, etc.  Enough so that she isn't joining the Garmin ecosystem.  (Since I don't count calories, I just ignore the number.)

  • Thanks for the reply. As i did'nt expect this to be abolished, i just thought this watch was a serious sports watch. Where I succeeded, I stopped displaying these "floors and steps", or i ignore this. I don't understand who need this, who run in house and count floors - ha, ha.
    Ok - thanks, Lindeman.

  • There are a number of features on the watch that try to encourage users to be healthy and active throughout the day, not just when they are working out. Steps will include both your run, and the number of steps you took in your normal daily activities.

But for more serious athletes, I can understand how "steps" isn't really a relevant measure.

Yes, you can customize both the watch face, and the Garmin Connect software to choose which data fields to display.

On the watch: Settings> Watch Faces> start button> Customize> Data

With the phone, you can drag the order of the data fields, or swipe right to hide them completely.
