GPS Accuracy Problem

After the update to 4.00 version the FR945, too much deviation in GPS has occurred. Moreover, I use GPS + Galileo mode.

Software version : 4.00 | GPS : 2.70 | CIQ : 3.1.6 | BMX : 0.5.2 | Wi-Fi : 2.60 | WHR : 20.04.70 | ANT/BLE/BT : 5.01 | Sensor Hub : 3.20

Spotify App Stucking Problem on White Screen

Spotify application is stuck on the white screen as I showed in the video below and the application crashes. Spotify app version : 1.3.21

Whenever I make Music Provider My music or Control Phone and then choose Spotify again, the app can open. However, when I log back into the application and return to the main screen, it gets stuck on the white screen again.

In the previous software, I was able to sync routes to my watch via Strava Routes and Komoot App, but I can no longer do it with the latest software.

It is waiting on the downloading screen but there is no progress. Komoot app version : 2.2.2

It is waiting on the loading screen but there is no progress. Strava routes app version : 5.0

  • GPS is as bad as it has been. Nothing new on that. Unfortunately the Sony's chipset is bad :( Hoping to see MediaTek back on next generation or Sony should really improve those.

Spotify, I don't do music, no idea on that.

CIQ file download is broken on 4.00, new beta fixes it, this will break Strava, Komoot etc.

  • So, not defending Garmin here, the GPS accuracy on this watch is bad. I would call it "sufficient in optimal conditions".

From the look of your track, the watch is losing sight of 1 or more satellites because of obstructions, always happening at the same place, and then find them again after a while.

If you're unlucky and are at a place where GPS and Galileo or Glonass had patchy coverage at the same time, and combined with obstructions and a not so great GPS receiver, this is what happens.

You can check if Glonass or Galileo have a bad day in your area just before going out for an activity https://galmon.eu/geo/coverage.html

It sucks but it's the best thing to do..

  • GPS is as good as it has been. Nothing new with that. Fortunately the Sony's chipset is as good as earlier chipsets but much better for battery usage Slight smile Would not want  to see MediaTek back on next generation. Sony is a move in the right direction..

  • You are right - this has nothing to do with Sony chipset. Obviously, there is very persistent reflected GPS signal at that one spot, and watch is picking it up as legit signal.

@ : what's the object on the screenshot?

  •  you mention the following image?

  • I was thinking about the object where you were running. Was it a stadium or a hall?

  • The running track, it's newly built, so it has not been updated on the map.

  • I saw this, and was looking at my ride from last evening, out of curiosity.

Mine's pretty spot-on, even capturing an out-back hill-climb, on the same road, shows us on/near the shoulder both sides of the road (single-lane w/shoulder).

On some turns, where there's tall trees (it's the PNW, so we have a bunch of those;-]), it does sometimes tend to "wander" a little, in terms of track.  It was only maybe 10-15 feet though, at the worst, where I was off-road slightly, and those were only in a couple of places.

I bet this is due to sides on a stadium, per the last person's question.  I'm with them, the battery life is pretty darn good, I'd rather have that, than ultimate accuracy, any day.
