Does anyone know exactly how the new Virtual Run feature in 4.06 beta and Zwift work together? Does the watch broadcast directly to the Zwift app? And ore specifically, does this mean one can bypass third party treadmill hardware such as Runn?

When will this feature come out for Virtual Bike? I use Zwift primarily for biking!!!
This is exactly why we've developed this App. The idea was to simplify the pairing process and allow users to connect one "sensor" to Zwift rather than multiple sensors.
You can do both. stryd can broadcast to both the 945 and the watch but in this case you don't need the virtual run app.
I have a nordictrack at home with a runn and don't need the app (I wouldn't r…
Garmin-Blake, I just want to get clarification here. If I have a structured workout I built in Garmin Connect, will I not be able to access it / do it when I am on Virtual Run / Zwift ?
Hi. Do you have plans to add this feature to Forerunner 645?
The Virtual Run app pairs a single device to Zwift and then broadcasts all of the sensor data that is displayed on the watch, as opposed to pairing all of those sensors separately.
Ok, so by using a tac-x that is already paired with Zwift there is no added value for that sort of app. I only need to broadcast HR to the ant dongle also, and that's all
I also paired the tac-x with the 945 for speed and power, and recorded the activity, but it's just to double check Zwift numbers because Zwift is synching with Connect in the end.
So I see not very much need for a virtual cycle APP, or am I missing some scenery. This is getting rather techie these days. It took me one hour to put all my Zwift setup up and cycling again :)
nope, not really. the smart trainer will sent to zwift the necessary data via ant. the only possible scenario i can think of is when you're running zwift on your phone and you would have only bluetooth pairing available (but most of the trainers today are bt enabled as well). the virtual run profile makes sense because it uses the internal accelerometer of the watch and based on the cadence and your calibrated step length will send cadence and speed to zwift + hr from either the ohr or the connected external hrm. attached is a printscreen of zwift running on my xz2 compact mobile paired with an 3.5 years old elite drivo via bt. what could be useful though is an option of selecting either bt or ant+ when broadcasting ohr data from the 945.
And Virtual Run para Fenix 5X Plus?
Aaaah this is what I was expecting too... Finally found this answer...
The thing is when running both Zwift AND connect on the same device (Android here)... How can I stop Garmin connect (force stop does not work since it's a service running in the background)
Any help is appreciated...
Dear Blake, I am so glad, this is a great idea. I have the Garmin forerunner 945 and I also use the watch when biking on Zwift. I currently have the Garmin speed/cadence bike sensor as well as heart rate monitor when connecting. Is there a virtual bike available/coming out so that I will be able to use my watch as one “connection” to Zwift so that I won’t have to use their companion app for the heart rate monitor?
Hi. I’m using this new virtual race mode on garmin 945 but the pace is very un accurate. I think the HRM Run accelerometer is quite more stable and reliable, hoe can I use not only the heart rate from the HRM run, but also pace and cadence from it to Zwift?
thanks!
