Weather Widget “Waiting for Data” Message Returned!

I was wondering if anybody else has experienced the return of the dreaded “waiting for data” message in the weather widget. I’m running the latest version of everything, and have tried all of the standard troubleshooting that provided no relief when this was a common issue a few months back.

Everything was fine until this morning when my FR 945 updated to the latest GPS 2.70. Since then, the “waiting for data” message has displayed in the weather widget.

Have you tried a hard reset - press and hold top left until it shuts down (hold through the assistance screen) No user data lost but you might want to sync steps etc first.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did try the hard reset - no luck though.

Fairly standard after an update. The update process overwrites prior location data. A GPS "soak" then a sync should resolve things.

I recently encountered this issue when I swapped out my original 945 to a new 945 to fix the soft button issue. I was able to correct the Weather Widget waiting for data problem by removing my new 945 from Garmin Connect Mobile, unpairing the watch from my phone (iPhone XS, iOS 13.3), re-pairing with my phone and adding the watch back to Garmin Connect Mobile.

Thank you for the suggestion. The soak didn’t do the trick for this particular issue, however now I know about it for future GPS updates.
