How do I Record data while Indoor Cycling (Stationary Bike)

Hi There,

I've recently joined a spin class at the gym and would like to use my garmin 945 to record the data. The bike is a Freemotion stationary bike, and it says it has ant+. I am able to connect to the power sensor, but I do not know how to record the speed and distance values shown on the computer atop the bike. What is the best way of recording this data in the gym?

  • I only find "no" information from an Italian company about that bike.
Normally, some pictures would make sense.

If you can record power, you should have all wich is interesting?
Did you check if you can find a seperate speed/cadence sensor when you search with the watch?

  • When pairing, try to pair it as an indoor trainer, rather than a power meter. The indoor trainer ANT+ protocol includes speed and distance, although it is down to the bike manufacturer as to whether they have implemented this or not.

In any event, power is far more relevant for training metrics than speed or distance, which are only artificially generated numbers.

Sorry, I got the name wrong! It's a FreeMotion!
