Can you edit Move IQ?

Not sure the 230 had this, but my 945 has Move IQ, and it keeps mis-quantifying my walks as 'elliptical' about 50% of the time. I don't see a way to edit this, the only option is delete?

I've never been on an elliptical machine, and I don't walk funny :) .. it does get the cycling usually correct.

I looked for ways to correct this with the Garmin Connect app on my Android phone and also on the Garmin website without luck. Anyone know if this is possible to edit/correct?

Or what the e-mail address would be for Garmin to suggest this as a feature if that's not available?

Move IQ events cannot be edited after they are detected and "recorded". Troubleshooting steps for this feature are currently limited, but we would like to point you to our FAQ here for more information.

While that cannot be edited, they can be deleted.

Thanks for the information Former Member .. that's too bad, perhaps in the future Garmin can implement an 'edit' function that will allow us to fix errors in the algorithm's classification and help it learn to do better. Or at least fix the record at our end.

That function is what I most miss, since migrating from Fitbit

Agree, it would be nice to change it. Seems like I wouldn't mind having yardwork on my record, but have to delete the cycling it thought I did.

I'm having the same issue with my fenix 6s. Every time I walk my dogs it's listed as an elliptical workout. It's frustrating that it's so inaccurate for a basic activity and can't be edited. My $100 fit bit was more accurate.

As this post is over a year old, I assume you have now fixed this bug. How do I now correct a wrongly classified IQevent?

It definitely is not fixed! I opened a case with Garmin as my calendar was full of elliptical activities as well. Strangely they told me it must be a quirk of the way I walk as nobody else had reported it. A quick Google search throws up countless examples of the same thing so don't really believe that.

My own solution was to turn off moveiq & forget about as a waste of time.

Thanks. If you switch it off, does it mean that your activity retains the status you selected in the first place?
