Garmin 945 4.00 firmware

Nothing works for me since yesterday. Heart rate, pulse oximeter, altimeter, barometer, compass, accelerometer, gyroscope; NOTHING WORKS!! The only thing that goes is the GPS !! Garmin but what are you doing?!?!?! And the battery is also discharged soon!! I don't pay 600 euros to be a beta tester!!

  • I downgraded but the result doesn't change. Nothing works in my 945. Can anyone help me?

  • Try reinstalling the RemoteSW downgrade files that came with 3.77 beta. Your ANT/BLE/BT is still 5.01 which suggests the previous BT and sensor software did not install properly. The versions for 3.30 should be:

    Sensor Hub 2.70
    ANT/BLE/BT 4.30

  • I repeated the procedure several times, installing the files in remotesw, but the result has never changed, it doesn't work. I send it back.

  • And on top of that, don't get the impression that it's any better with Suunto or Polar. They also struggle with similar issues. It sort of comes with wanting to have the latest technology that requires a lot of software and hardware configuration. I've never seen bug-free software. Even Apple, Goole and Microsoft struggle with this and software development is their core business. My experience is that it gets better and better over time. Also with Garmin.

  • The difference with Garmin though, is they don't seem to learn from past mistakes, repeatedly putting out devices that come loaded with bugs that make the user base infuriated. And the talking point that others make of Garmin releasing everything in beta somehow excuses them; is not a good point either

I'll say this about Polar though, they are slow and methodical about the software, which is both a benefit and a curse. Benefit because Polar checks every box before pushing anything out, bad if they did miss one of those boxes, and you now have to wait sometimes up to half a year for it to be addressed.

I've said it before, but why hasn't Garmin started a user opt-in Beta testing program system is beyond me. A closed-in system with beta launchers, beta GCM, and a user side agreement to let Garmin mirror your device (or just get logs fed to them daily); would be light years ahead of dumping out a beta on a forum. A forum plenty of users are not even aware of, the ones aware of download without ever intending to help bug test, and the ones that do have the thinnest of guidelines of what and how to report to the beta team!

I had exactly the same issues with my F945 since the upgrading to 4.00 !

I did a hard reset, I did a downgrading to 3.30, nothing change.

Finally, I send the watch to the french Garmin ASS, I'm waiting for a new watch (normally).

  • I sent it on Tuesday, I wait for the new one, if it happens to me I'll switch to polar
