Forerunner 945 synchronization errors and activity tracking errors

After upgrading to 4.00 using Garmin Express, I have experienced data loss.

First, after the upgrade from 3.90 to 4.00 on 20191224, everything 'seemed' fine, until I went for a brisk walk.

The walk was correctly tracked and logged on the FR945, but the overall step count did not synchronize with neither Garmin Connect App (Android) nor Garmin Connect Online; the walk was only about 5,000 steps, but that was certainly enough to notice the issue.

I can still see the steps in the FR945 step daily activity count.

I tried to resolve by manually synchronizing, removing my FR945 from Garmin Connect App, uninstalling Garmin Connect App, reinstalling Garmin Connect App, pairing with Garmin Connect App, but nothing would synchronize the missing step count.

Then, upon further examination, although all of my recorded 'activities' imported into Garmin Connect App, NONE of the daily statistics imported; it appears, according to Garmin Connect, as if I have done nothing for almost a month (besides yesterday and today), which is when I received the FR945.

Secondly, today, 20191226, I did a floor climb, on a real stair case, totaling 54 floors climbed.

I do a real floor climb several times a week, sometimes over 100 floors climbed.

ZERO floors were recorded in the activity today on the FR945, although the 'all day floor climb activity tracker' did record them.

I cannot see where I can edit this on the FR945.

I synchronized with Garmin Connect App, and ZERO floors were recorded, although all other normal data transferred.

I was able to edit the floor count on the Garmin Connect App, then tried to synchronize again, thinking it would send the data to the FR945, but it did not.

Something seemswrong in how the FR945 is synchronizing to Garmin Connect App and Garmin Connect Online.

I tried to search the online PDF manual, the forum, and a general Google search.

How do I fix my synchronization issues?

I do not want to 'reset' my FR945 as it appears as though it is the only place that has all of the information stil, except for one incorrect floor climb count.

I did not mention Garmin Connect Online very much, as it is displaying the exact same information as the Garmin Connect App.

Please help.

    i am not pleased, just received my FR945 two days ago and the step count stopped working yesterday! I was on a 21 day streak and not nothing.  I've taken all the steps you've mentioned above with the exception of resetting the device.  All other activities sync with no problem. whats the deal?
