Invalid activity

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help! I actually have a Forerunner 920X but that wasn't an option on here... I ran today and the file is saying 'Invalid' 0.00 for all the data. It stays at the top of my history and won't delete. This has only happened once to me before, and I accepted it was a lost cause because it was trying to save when the watch ran out of power - my fault entirely. But there is still 50% charge in the watch even now!

The file when the watch is connected to the computer looks ok to me, and is 19KB, the same size as yesterday's run. Is there any way of resurrecting this activity, or is it dead? I searched a bit on here, but I can't get any of the downloads people have suggested to work on my laptop.

Please help if you can.

Thanks in advance,

Amanda

  • Did you try to download it via USB and delete it via USB (make sure to delete it and not move it to trash). Afterwards, do a soft reset of the watch.

Hopefully it is out of your history then.

Then you can try to upload the file to Connect or fitfilerepairtools

sorry to hear about your mishap

    do as @benegi suggested

    when no success

zip the fit file and upload here in the forum, or provide a link to it on a cloud storage

also check your ACTIVITY folder when many fiot files time for a backup/clean operation

    Hi BeneGi and OnlyTwo,

Thank you so much for your quick responses. I have managed to remove the file from the device using your advice - thank you! I have also cleared my watch from activities and about to head out for a 5k, so fingers crossed it will be alright now.

I have tried uploading it again, but it doesn't want to import into Garmin... I tried an online converter mentioned on another thread and it's having none of it!

I couldn't figure out how to zip it, but here is a link to it on my google drive. If you wouldn't mind looking, that would be amazing!

    drive.google.com/open

    Thanks again,

    Amanda

  • I used my Garmin 920 XT for an ironman race from last weekend is saying INVALID activity.  Any tips on how I can get that info/data?  I would really love to see it!!  Thanks!

  • Post your fit file here and we can try to repair it.

    • Zip the file, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
    • Or upload the fit file to a file sharing service, such as OneDriveGoogle DriveDropbox, etc., make the file public, then paste a link to the file in your post.
