WMI provider Host high CPU

Lately I started to notice that WMI provider Host required very high CPU power

I started to eliminate and found that this started right after installing the Gramin Express

Tested this on 2 machines, Desktop and Laptop running Windows 10

Double checked and verified that Windows is up-to-date on both computers

The Gramin Express works "funny" and not always recognize my FR945 and keeps stating "Not Connected" when I can see my FR945 on windows device and drivers

The apps recognized the FR945 only after reconnect for a few times

I'd recommend changing the settings in Garmin Express to NOT launch on opening, and to not keep running in background.

This certnly a way to bypass this issue

The question if there is a way to overcome this issue while keeping it in the background and started on startup...

Wow. I've been trying to figure out why WMI Provider Host has been doing this, without success until reading this post. Thank you!

FWIW, I hadn't noticed the problem until recently (and I almost always have Task Manager running to see things like this). I wonder if it started with the latest GE release (6.19.3).

Note: I just posted the problem on the Garmin Express forum. There is a thread about GE using high CPU, but inside the thread there are WMI-specific posts, too.

Exactly same issue. I figured out the issue about month ago after last Garmin Express update. I have Win10, all-up-to-date and after closing GarminExpress my PC CPU utilization will normalize immediately.
So definitely something wrong with the Garmin software.

Garmin express Ver. 6.19.4.0 have the same issue
