Garmin Connect app on iPhone keeps "losing" my watch and asking me to set it up from scratch - help!

For the past few weeks or so, I will open up the Garmin Connect app on my iPhone and it will ask me to set my Garmin up, like its brand new.  I don't undertstand why this is happening all of a sudden.  I have tried deleting the app, turning my phone off, reinstalling the app, turning my watch off, and re-setting up the watch from scratch.  But then after a few days I open the Garmin app up and it does not have my phone and asks me to set up a new device.

Is this a bug?  Can anyone advise a fix for this?  Many thanks.
