Did someone already use it ?
I found this link from garmin wich explains a bit how it works : https://support.garmin.com/en-CA/?faq=LvxSdLU83o0oGWBrmxkLZ8&productID=665374&searchQuery=auto%20rest&tab=topics

thanks, It says it doesn't recon laps when rest is less than 20 sec. Can you use both rest methods then ? (auto lap most of the time then lap button when quick rest ? )
Yes, if more than 20 sec it can be fully automatic as it says on manual (didn't try) or restarting with lap button in any case.
Tried it yesterday, but I will not use it anymore. The timing is not accurate enough for me. My rests are most of the time shorter then 20 seconds so that can be of influence.
For me it works very well. I really like it - my shortest breaks so far have been 20 s.
It also often corrects the swim distance after several seconds in auto pause.
E.g. when I first stop it shows 75m and then corrects it some seconds later to 100 m (which was correct value).
So far distance tracking seems more accurate to me than before. But it's only two swims of experience with auto pause so far.
It does not come with the the 2.80 software version, but the latest version 4.0.0 has it.
Thanks, I'm on 2.80, do I just connect watch to computer and use Garmin express?
Found it to work perfectly well. Didn't need to press lap button upon restarting the swim either.
