In case I purchase a Forerunner 945 in the US (or on Amazon), would the international warranty apply outside of the US? will other local supports/distributors provide service for the 945?

It doesn't look like Garmin has a worldwide warranty, https://www.garmin.com/en-US/legal/consumer-limited-warranty/
However, I recently had a device repaired without them even asking for a purchase receipt...
This comes up frequently here in New Zealand. Generally speaking if you buy something outside of the country or online, the local distributor is not obliged to undertake warranty repairs. You would likely need to work with Garmin Support for any problems and apparently that differs from country to country too unfortunately.
I am learning my lesson with this Garmin warranty. Just bought a 945 in Changi airport on my way back from Singapore to Thailand where I live. Watch doesn't work (HR has no readings). I called the Thailand distributor which could not care less as I bought it in airport in Singapore... why on earth would anyone buy in airport if this provides no international warranty ? I called Taiwan center and same, the person was aggressive, not helpful …. very unpleased to say the least …
