Additional updates on the same Rollout schedule

Sensor Hub 2.70
ANT/BLE/BT 4.30

  • I'm in the US and received a replacement model for a defective initial unit about a month ago.  Surely I wouldn't be sent an Asian-Pacific model?

  • You wouldn't think so, but there are some who received APAC versions through Amazon.

  • Mine came as a result of an RMA with Garmin.  I just assumed that's why I was on the last group to receive the update, but now I am not so sure.

I did get the Sensor Hub 2.7 and BLE/BT 4.3 though.

Maybe it will go through tonight, who knows.  I see no other way to prompt it and @Garmin-Blake is apparently not monitoring this thread.

  • You can tell if it is an APAC device by the PN on the outside of the box. A North American market model will have a part number ending in -00 or -10.

Also the languages on the watch will have Chinese and limited other languages.

  • Okay that's not me then.

I think I know what might have happened.  Last night around 7pm I noticed the battery draining VERY fast, like from 17% down to 7% in one hour, and then quickly down to 1%.  I was just driving around and not using GPS/etc, just regular smartwatch connection.  So I power cycled it and it settled down.  Now, I'm thinking I might've killed the FW update?

  • Update - I forced the issue and used Garmin Express.  6 data fields here I come!

  • Do not update this sh#t. Battery consumption 13% during night (always 2-3%). Sleep metrics don't work.

I did reset of course after update.

  • Battery draining fast in the last 20% is not rare on all devices using lithium - ion batteries. The % indicator is just an estimate based on how much juice was left in the battery last time it was at this voltage, if like most users you often charge your battery way before it reaches those low values, the calibration is incorrect and the % value is off.

  • But mine drained 13% from 99% (99-->86). So not this case.

Also my watch stopped vibrating! OMG. What a fail.

  • У меня тоже произошёл небывалый разряд батареи за первые сутки после обновления. 935 за сутки разрядились на 2%, а 945 на 15%, с одной 30 минутной тренировкой.
