Body battery

Does the body battery has an effect on your training effect ? does the watch tells you on how much you should push depending on how restored you are ? Still using a 935 and wonder if I should go 945.

Thanks

  • No, it does not. Most of fancy features on 945 are useless.

  • body battery is most useful to show your wife on the day after drinking way too much Vodka, that you can´t possibly do ANYTHING useful in the household, just have a lie-down and moan about. Actually it´s pretty good for that! Slight smile

  • So i should stick with the 935 I guess. Was just wondering if the extra features of the 945 were worth it. Thanks

  • I went from a 935 to a 945 and will give you my impressions.

Body Battery is a running total of HRV stress. The 935 has HRV stress so you'll get an idea how much allostatic load your body is under, but without an "idiot light" like Body Battery provides.

Personally, I find Body Battery HIGHLY USEFUL. I got ill over the summer and watched HRV stress ramp up and stay up, with Body Battery bottoming out and staying there until I was on the mend. I took screen caps of the entire week as it was such a clear picture of what was going on "under the hood" of my body.

    Other changes with the 945:

    • Much faster CPU making button presses more responsive and animation cleaner.
    • More granular training load data ("high, medium, low cardio zones") - which can guide how you should train.
    • Once the next few rounds of firmware updates are done, the 945 will have all the features of the Fenix 6 line - 6 data fields, HR gauge across the top of the screen in activities, battery life impact analysis.
    • I don't use maps often but there are times when my phone's battery is near dead and it's nice to have navigation on the watch.

The shell of the 945 may look like a 935 but the guts come from the MARQ and Fenix 6.

  • Thank you with this nice feedback. i may wait a while though as it looks like it has some bugs. does the training guide adjust in function of your recovery score ?

  • I'm not using the guided training functions yet so I can't comment on those.

I DO use the workout builder and love it, but I'm pretty sure you can do that with the 935. What the 945 will add there is actual videos on the watch (after F6 firmware parity).

  • Thanks. right now i also got a polar ignite i am using with my 935. just trying to find out if i should move to polar or stick with garmin. do love the 935 though. cannot beat my 3 weeks battery life :)
