Download

Notes:

  • For any issues that you encounter please fill out the form included in the download and attach it to an email to [email protected]. Please note that you may not get a response to the email unless we need more information on the issue you report.
  • This build contains special test code to debug an issue we are tracking for devices sometimes crashing on activity save at higher altitudes. If you should experience this issue using this beta version of software it would be greatly appreciated that you follow the Feedback Reporting document's procedures and provide the err_log.txt and RAM.txt that you should have from this crash. This should help us expedite a fix for this issue.
  • Although this software is believed to be reliable, it has not yet been released for production and should be used at your own risk.

Changes made from version 3.08 to 3.15:

  • Added test code to track down issue with save at high altitude. Please see readme for beta.
  • Improvements to segment achievements
  • Improve stress readings
  • Improvements to media player

  • Improvements/fixes for Spotify
  • Fix potential device freeze on activity summary loop.

Installation Instructions

  1. Connect your Forerunner 945 to your computer using the USB cable.
  2. Download and unzip Forerunner945_315Beta.zip. Place the GUPDATE.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder of your device's internal storage drive.
  3. In Forerunner945_315Beta, go to the RemoteSW folder. Place the GUP3114.GCD and GUP3303.GCD file in the \GARMIN\REMOTESW folder of your device's internal storage drive.
  4. Disconnect your device from the computer, approve the update on the watch, and wait for the update to finish.
  5. If you would like to revert to the last public release software, place the GUPDATE-280.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder. Rename GUPDATE-280.GCD to GUPDATE.GCD before disconnecting your device. To revert the RemoteSW, place the RemoteSW\Downgrades\GUP3114-250.GCD and RemoteSW\Downgrades\GUP-3303-360.GCD in the \GARMIN\REMOTESW folder. NOTE: If you revert to an older version of software, all of your settings will be reset to defaults.
  • Footpod (Stryd) pace/distance completely off since installation of v3.15 beta. I ran my usual 12km today, and noticed instantly that pace was off. When I reached my usual turn-around point at 6km, watch showed 5.68 (~5,5% less).

Was resolved by removing Stryd from the "Sensors & accessories menu", and adding it again. If this happens to you and you resolve it this way, make sure to re-adjust settings like pace/distance always on, and no auto-calibration.

  • Pretty much spot on analysis in my view. There is no market substitute here (other than spending money on something other than a running watch of course!) so no pressure on Garmin to resolve their quality issues. Also ironic that despite the maxim that agile is focused on delivering ‘working software’ above all else this is rarely what it seems to achieve (just loads of poor quality functionality that someone has told the customer they ‘want’) . But as you say why would Garmin upset their CI pipeline with quality gates ; although deprecatable investment is obviously excluded from their EBITDA it still hits their shareholder constituent in terms of dividend and it’s not really justifiable given how little impact their quality issues are having on the bottom line given their ownership of the sports wearable market. Garmin’s issues are very common in the software industry these days in my experience - it’s time for the economic model to evolve and deliver better to the consumer constituent.

  • Attached my battery curve with this beta. I am not amused. The problems begun as I connected to Spotify and downloaded an audiobook...

Edit: furthermiremy watchface Blink shows the nunber of minutes in high power mode per day. Typically I had below 100 minutes per day. Today I have at 8 pm already 250 minutes. Did already 2 hard resets...

  • In the new beta version  my Running Dynamics Pod has stopped working. I can install but I can't use any Running Dynamics Pod functions. I need your help please

  • Missing from the Changelog is fixes for WiFi Syncing:

    • inability to sync via WiFi if phone is found first
    • error during WiFi sync with 1mb+ .fit files
    Are either of these acknowledged/in-progress?
  • 2.80 Volume adjust FR945 Music and JBL Reflect Flow Not Working

pls fixed in the next version

  • It works in this version.

  • Seems like floor climb count is out of order here.

For the same workday with this version  I got 27 while usually I get max of 16.

  • Assuming Pacepro to be available in the next release?

  • I'm using 945 with Stryd and all seems to be working well, so far so good :)

Can we expect widget glances in next update?
