Does PacePro not work if you use Stryd Footpod when distance and pace is coming from the pod?

Does PacePro not work if you use Stryd Footpod when distance and pace is coming from the pod?  The pace field is blank and doesnt appear to be picking up any pace and distance information as it's just stuck on the start of the 1st mile split. However, when I disconnected the footpod and have it use watch gps for distance and pace, it appears to work fine. Anyone else experience this issue?

  • I have tried PacePro with Stryd and it worked ok. Distance and pace from the Stryd pod.

  • Yesterday, during the Amsterdam half marathon, I used my new Fenix 6 for the first time. I had a PacePro plan set up, but 1K in the race I noticed that distance was not recorded. I was also running with a Stryd footpod, so this definitely seems to be an issue.

Because the course was slightly changed from last year, PacePro had trouble finding the start of the race.

  • The point with Stryd is not to race on pace but run with an even power on your race.

  • I don't see what that has to do with the combination of PacePro and Stryd potentially not working. I wanted to run this race using PacePro, but since that didn't work from the start, I had to reset my watch and used my Stryd instead. The question raised in this topic, however, was that PacePro was not working. By the way, Stryd may have had nothing to do with it. In the meantime, I have read that using a preloaded course (for me, the Amsterdam half marathon) can mess up using PacePro when the course has been slightly altered compared to last year. Can anyone confirm this?

  • If I go "off course" the pace pro calculation is messed up (at least for me). So I assume that if you base the course on last years course the pace pro calculation may be out of sync.

Do not know if it is a feature or bug. But optimally it should catch up and base it on remaining distance once you are on the course again (which it didn't do for me).

  • Yes, I guess that was it. Well, lesson learned, I will not download a course anymore, but just tell it to pace me for the appropriate distance. Hopefully it will work then.

  • This is not even remotely an answer to the OP’s question. Don’t mark it as an answer unless you’ve actually read, comprehended, and have an answer to the question.

  • Any update on this?  PacePro is using GPS for pace and it's so much less accurate than the Stryd.  Is there anyway to force PacePro to use the default settings?

  • I ran a half marathon earlier this year with a pacepro plan that was based a gpx supplied by the organization. The course was 21.6km, but in the race they changed a loop to get it down to 21.1km.

I got an off course notification on the changed part then when I got back on the original course it got picked up again. My remaining time jumped down a few minutes which was correct. So for me it worked fine.
