Blue Triangle during or after workouts

I've had this 3 times in the last week, whereby during or after a workout I get the dreaded Blue triangle, watch was rebooted then following that the watch has gone flat throughout the night, The watch was 100% charged prior to workout?

I am using traingpeaks to execute my workouts.

I have IM Barcelona in the coming weeks and this problem is beginning to make me think that the watch will piss around come race day.

Is there anyone else suffering from said issue.

Regards

  • any not standard watchfaces, datafields or something similar installed from connect IQ?

  • I use Actiface and Styrd power.. Both I've used on my old 935 and 945 without issues.

  • Probably doesn't  help you much but I also use TrainingPeaks to create my workouts (I use the native integration with Garmin, e.g. no TrainingPeak app on the watch). Like you I've also the Stryd power ConnectIQ installed (in Running I've the new version with zones; in TrailRunning still the old version).

Until now I've never encountered a restart (blue triangle) so it probably must be related to something different.

  • Stryd Power Zone?

it's very important to use the correct Connect IQ Datafield, otherwise you have probs!

You can only use Stryd Zones or Stryd Power. You cannot use both data fields at the same time. If you enable Stryd Zones in your running mode,  you must remove Stryd Power from your active data fields.. If you enable Stryd Power, you must remove Stryd Zones from your active data fields.

  • Yes I am only using the stryd zones data field.

  • and how you connected the pod himself, there are different option and only one works as i know?

i only connected as Running Pod, the power meter himself is disabled, can't look now, because i am not at home!

  • No, I use them in two different apps: Running and TrailRunning. In neither of them I use both. They are not active at the same time. That will not work of course.

  • Hi! I recognise this! I have had it a few times after installing latest firmware 2.80. It looks like a reset because it is the same screen: black with blue triangle. I Do not use any apps or watchfaces other than standard. No Stryd. I do use Garmin HRM strap. And use BT and WIFI.
I have had no problems at all during runs. All the data seems correct saved. So I have no problem using it during a marathon. But it would be better if Garmin knows about it and fixes this.

  • I have had this issue numerous times now, always when using trailrunning. After the run I try to save and I get the blue triangle and it resets. This may happen a few times as I try to save. Eventually, and always once I have service back on my phone (coincidentally I think) I get it to save and all my data is there. I don't use any external apps. Pretty much straight out of the box.
