Two Sapphire Fenix 6 Pro’s, backlight / contrast issues

I bought two fenix 6’s today, both are the Carbon grey DLC coated with sapphire glass.

Have a look at these photos, my wife's is on the left hand side and mine the right. Her looks very yellow compared to mine which looks far crisper and sharper. Both have backlight set to 50%.

Any thoughts on if there’s a setting other than backlight that could cause this before I go back to the shop where I bought them?

I just got my new F6X yesterday. Perfect blacks and really love the watch and the new screen! Serial 63408ΧΧΧΧ. Here is a photo with backlight set to 50%.

  • I think we are in the same team ;-) Got my F6X Sapphire yesterday as well. You can see comparison of F6X that I got month ago, and the one that I got yesterday thanks to my forum friend (I don't know if he wants me to mention his name here, THANK YOU, with out your help I would be stuck with blue smurf's version of the Fenix HAHA). I am not going to say anything more, just check this photos out - F6X Blue Version and F6X as advertised by Garmin. I am not gonna argue which one is better or faulty, there has been enough said already :) You may not see it on photos but colours, contrast, viewing angles are perfect.
P.S. All photos taken with same phone camera ;-)
EDIT: as Former Member said, of course I would also say thank you to Greek eGalaxy from Greece - great store and customer service, well recommended. You can google their store as I dont think I am allowed to upload link to their website.
  • In real, this black looks proper black.

  • I dont remember what was the backlight set at in watch on left photo (it has been sent back to dealer 3 weeks ago), I think it was 100%, the one on the right I took photo of now, got 100% backlight.

I am really happy for you and excited at the same time. I wish my local retailer would allow me to do that. I think I'l; just make the order under the condition of receiving a specific S/N and I'll send it back if it is blue. And the again...

The only thing that I am not happy about is that in couple of hours J and the rest of the trolls will come here to ruin the celebration

  • And another photo of F6X with good display. All photos with backlight on Slight smile This one backlight is at 100% as well

Indeed we are on the same team! :) Btw, I also wanted to thank our friend for his time and effort. I was disappointed with the blue screen gate and without his help I wouldn't have bought the watch. So a big THANK YOU from me too! I don't need to mention your name either, but you know who you are.

A big thank you also to the Greek eGalaxy store that agreed to open the boxes and check the watches before we buy them. Thank you guys, you are awesome!

Congratulations for you new watch, I think there is no comparison with the old washed out screen. Enjoy!

  • Congratulations for you new watch, I think there is no comparison with the old washed out screen. Enjoy!

Two different worlds - before I did not want to look at it and wished I have never sold my F5X, which was blueish but not as bad as F6, which depends in watch (I had 5...all sent back) were blueish or violet, poor contrast, no viewing angles, just useless.

Now I enjoy wearing it all day and it may be my full day all around watch. It is perfect

  • Lucky you.  Wish there was a local store that would let me do this.  I don't want a Garmin Approved Blue Screen.
