Buyers remorse?

I bought the 945 earlier this month (upgrade from F3) after wrestling with superior features of 945 versus my preferred styling of Fenix 5 Plus. Now, 3 weeks later, a Fenix 6, and for not as much of a premium as I'd expected (and hoped!!). Pulse Ox sensor on my 945 doesn't work so hoping to use that to get a refund and then buy the Fenix 6.

Anyone else getting buyers remorse, or am I being fickle....!

BTW, already seen that all meaningful features from the F6 are coming to the 945 (Pace Pro, Widget Glances and more data fields) so it's purely the styling that I'm looking at. I am a triathlete and enjoying the lower weight / lower profile of the 945 but still like the rugged stying of the Fenix.

I'm currently using a Fenix 3 which has been rock solid apart from one minor incident. I'm planing of getting an FR945 when they drop in price but then I keep reading about certain issues and wonder if I should bother.

My only gripe with the F3 has been the weight of it - curse my skinny wrists! F6 looks a fantastic peice of kit - I'd love an FR with a larger screen size, but I have to confess that the F6's bezel is a bit ugly looking...

  • I love 945. Had a fenix 3hr before. The 945 is much snapper, better screen. Love the maps, music and garmin pay. All in an neat & light package. Sure the fenix 6 is very nice as well. In terms of features is pretty similar to the 945 though. Some of the new stuff will come to the 945 as well.

Overall I like the looks of the fenix better, but the smaller lighter package of 945 has it's pros too.

I changed from a Polar V800 to the 945 10 days ago and so far mostly happy. My sports are kayak (outdoor) and indoor rowing, both not supported by Polar or Garmin. I paddle disguised as a bicycle in order to get cadence data from a paddle cadence sensor, but that was the case for both companies. All I need from the 945 works OK, no regrets, also thanks to the AppBuilder with enables Distance per Stroke which was not available in Polar (really cool!). I am only using the sports features, no music, pay or whatever. Display readability in full sun with sun glasses is good. If Garmin would enable cadence in kayak/paddling the watch would be close to perfect.

Getting the data exported was disappointingly difficult thanks .fit and no csv, but works now via a self-written batch file with the ant fit SDK. I calculate load, tolerance, fitness etc with my own formulae in excel, as both Polar and Garmin are too intransparent in how they calculate and not comparable anyway. But thats not a watch thing.

It is out of question that all functions like your Pulse Ox have to work, everything else depends on taste and your needs. Just make your mind what your real needs (musts) are, what is nice to have and what merely a gimmick.

    Heads up!
