Cannot delete local music playlist

As title says, i've just transferrend a folder under music folder on the watch from windows explorer that contains mp3 and a m3u playlist file; so far so good the watch see the playlist and it works ok.
Later I've deleted this folder from windows explorer from the watch but the playlist is still present on the watch, if I select it it says there are no songs in this playlist.

How can I delete this playlist entry? From garmin express it says there are no playlist on the watch too.
Searching in forums it seems a commond problem on garmin watches.
Hard resetting the watch is not an option.

Thank you
Regards

    Any update on this issue?

Facing the same issue with 'ghost' entries on my 945 after removing the actual music files in the folder. Tried resetting (not factory or data reset).

Quite irritating really as I can't keep track of what is available or not on my watch during a run.

And also, i have a single music file in my folder but the track shows up twice on the watch! I have so many double entries even though there is only one file in the file directory.

  • My situation right now.  How come this is so difficult in my Fenix 6 Pro?  Express is not compatible with editing/maintaining/viewing playlists.  At a loss why it even attempts to provide user access and functionality.  Interface on express is not clear-cut.  Android phone maintenance via connect is sub-par of what I would expect on a $600 watch.  When the music plays it's awesome - but when you can't edit the music on your watch . . . .well . . .

I actually use OSX but Garmin Express support for My Music does not work for me. iTunes functionality to load music into my 945 does not work.  Garmin Express will hog all the RAM resources (16GB) on my mac before crashing the app.

i had no choice but to use Windows via File Directory to do the transfer. MP3 tagging is also done on Windows.

i am just glad to be able to get some music out of my 945 when running.  not perfect but better than it not working at all.

  • Use Android File Transfer to access files on your Mac. No idea why you're having issues with Garmin Express on your Mac it works fine on my MacBook and iMac. I transferred a load of music files through Garmin Express to my watch only yesterday.

Maybe delete Garmin Express, download a fresh copy and reinstall.

  • Same problem.
It seems to be a general system error with all garmin devices with music.
The forum is full of problems with deleting playlists.
Please Garmin finally solved the problem!
    Why do you ignore this?

  • Resetting the watch just because the support does not work is not a solution, but a complete self-abandonment.

  • I am having the same problem. My old TomTom watch was so easy to add and delete playlists but this Garmin 645 Music is awful.  I wanted to delete the Christmas playlist I was listening to over the holidays but when I go to Garmin Express the delete button is grayed out. You can add another playlist but cannot delete the old one.  Finally went into the folder on the watch and deleted all the sub folders and playlist but it was a pain and Garmin Express still shows that the playlist is loaded.  So much trouble that I bought another armband and am carrying my phone with me again to listen to music.  This problem on top of the problem with the resin case breaking at the lugs where the watch band attaches has pretty much turned me off to Garmin products.  Love the stats and functionality of the Garmin metrics but will be looking for another product when upgrading.

  • Finally went into the folder on the watch and deleted all the sub folders and playlist but it was a pain

My thoughts and prayers are with you for a speedy recovery. :)
