Why is the 945 always trying to connect to sensors?

Just finished an indoor cycling workout, hooked my 945 for charging, took a shower, got a coffee and came back to grab my 945. Instantly - without an activity started - it showed that it connected my Tickr HR belt. Had similar occurrences with bike sensors in the past.

Why is the watch trying to connect to sensors without a started activity? Doesn’t make any sense to me. Does anyone have a good idea why this is the case?

  • This doesn't seem useful and can even be annoying, since it prompts "XYZ connected" whenever a sensor is found, vibrating the watch and displaying the message. Not to mention the battery drain it surely must come with when constantly scanning for sensors.
