Problems with Bluetooth after Update

On wednesday I have Update to the latest Firmware, 2.70, with connect mobile.

Everything works fine for two das.

Today I am not able to connect to the watch anymore. Connect mobile can not find the watch. If I try IT with my old 645 and the same Smartphone Everything works. Connect mobile find the watch5and can sync.

But with the 945 nothing happens.

Also on the PC with garmin express problems comes up. Garmin express find the watch, but can not sync.

The upcoming err message says something like, can not sync because watch is not configured as a tracker.

Reset the watch to the factory setting did not change anything.

Has anyone an idea?

  • Yep I am having the exact same problem. After the update my watch disconnected from my phone, and no matter what I do I cannot get it to reconnect.

Removed 945 from Garmin Connect and now cannot add it again - it finds the device, and then always fails furing the completing setup phase - "Pairing Failed - Setup was not successful" message.

  • Firstly, no problems here with two 945s both connecting to an iPhone X so the problem is likely not universal. Try these steps:

    • Remove the watch from GCM.
    • Check also that it is removed from the Bluetooth settings (on the iPhone elect to 'Forget the device')
    • Shutdown/Restart the phone.
    • Reboot the watch - press and hold top left until it shuts down.
    • Restart the watch.
    • Attempt to re-pair following the normal process.

If that doesn't work, contact Garmin Support

  • Also on the PC with garmin express problems comes up. Garmin express find the watch, but can not sync.

This has been a long standing issue with Garmin Express. Log the fault with Garmin Support to ensure they are made aware that the problem still persists. As an aside, I get this on my Mac. but if I boot to Windows it works! Damn frustrating.

  • Hi Philip - I had done everything you suggested, barring manually removing the watch from my phone's bluetooth list, which I tried, and it paired perfectly straight away through GC. Thank you for your help, much appreciated.

  • Actually I solved the Problem. I downgraded to Version 2.5. After that the connection works. Before I can Stopp anything I had the Update Di 2.7 again. Unwanted. But Actually the connection still World. I wait now if it stays connected

  • When you sync, turn on bluetooth, location, and open the garmin connect on the phone. It helped me with the problem.

  • Thank you, this worked for me.
