For those of you in the US who are BCBS members, I just discovered that there is a program called Blue365 through their site which offers substantial savings on Garmin devices. I've been a member of BCBS for many years, but didn't know about this.
E.g., the 945 is priced at $390, and other models have the same type of savings. The only downside I see is that availability is in 3 - 5 weeks for the 945 - not sure what the regular Garmin site shows. The 245M is $228.
I was able to buy my 945 on a Memorial Day sale, it wasn't this steep of a discount but still substantial plus I've had the benefit of having the watch now.
In any case, hope this helps someone.

A friend who saw my posting mentioned that he gets a discount through Humana, so it's worth checking your insurance. In some cases you can connect your fitness device and earn reward points too as I found out.
