chance to swap Fenix 5 plus with 945..

Hi all,

I've been having some issues with the F5 Plus and may have the chance to go for the 945. It appears to be better in almost every way, other than the buttons. I know the 935 suffered with less tactile click feedback and this has carried over the 945 in some cases. Appreciate the mushy buttons thread has been closed by Garmin so just wanted to quickly ask here if many are suffering/suffered from it and if so, whether a replace fixed the problem?

Thanks

  • Having FR945 for three weeks. No button problems.

  • Exactly what I did! No regrets at all. Buttons are fine. Screen brighter. Prefer the software on the 945.

  • I had mushy buttons on the 935, but apart from the feeling never had an issue with them in 2 years of usage... They didn't 'click' but they simply worked. The 945 buttons feel better, often the first time I press one it doesn't click but every subsequent press they do. And more importantly, they also just work (even when not making the click).

So yeah, there is a difference between actually stuck/non-responding buttons which indeed IS an issue and buttons that don't make the satisfactory noise when pressed which ppl might expect. For me a non-issue but perhaps not acceptable for others.

  • Mine has mushy buttons but they work... However Fenix 5X Plus's buttons have very different feeling...
