Beta - high HR reading until its reset

Morning all.

I have recently installed the latest beta. Since then, I have run once and done two gym sessions (I'm injured... so doing a low volume of rehab).

On all 3 occasions, I have noticed that the HR reading has been up around 130-140 before I have started doing anything - so just standing still. If I turn the oHR off then on again, it drops to the expected level (about 50, my resting is about 45).. This is the only thing that fixes it - moving the watch on my wrist, wiping the sensor etc makes no difference. It doesn't even sit steady at 130-140 - I can see it bouncing about around 20 beats either side until I reset it.

Anyone else getting this with the beta ?

  • If you have an issue it's best to report it on the form and send in

  • Report it to the Beta team, but as a stopgap measure that may help, before doing any activity (tracked) navigate to the "activity tracking" option and toggle it off for 5 seconds and then back on. After that, navigate to the OHRM option and do the same thing. I do (did) this with my 935 all the time when I'd see crazy HR swings like this and afterward the watch would settle down to a reasonable level.

Worse comes to worst; a hard reset will bring the OHRM under control; make sure you've synced recent data before you do.

  • Yes. When I first got the watch, the OHRM seemed quite good, even Vs my hrm-run. But recently it's been terrible. Reading too high during activity. Seems fine when resting or walking but as I run it quickly increases to 130-140.

I did the same run twice this week. Same pace. Once with strap and one with watch HRM. 130 average and 140 Max for strap. Today average 150 max 170. I was jogging but it has me as a tempo run. Yesterday as low aerobic.

Didn't think about it being the beta but makes sense. To me it is now totally unusable as is ruining the stats. Was thinking of returning but maybe it's the beta. I'll report it. Anyone else?

  • I had today something familiar. Did a workout for about one and a half hour. Didn't pay attention afterwards what HR was measured the next few hours. Got up in the morning and HR was higher around 20-30 then usual through the whole night and after standing up. Did a reboot and HR was back to normal.
