custom maps

Does FR945 support custom maps? Actualy i am using three diffirent map sets in my epix. Is there a option in menu of FR945 to change map to other set uploaded via basecamp or directly?

In manual there is no information about it.

Yes, you can toggle maps and separate map layers on and of for each activity.

I have small detailed local garmin map. I just renamed it to mychoosing and putted it in garmin folder on the watch. I can now select it from menu. It is very nice that i can have diffirent maps for diffirent…

If I'm not mistaken, when looking on the map, clicking options->Maps->Set maps, you have the option to toggle on/off which maps you want to use.

By that, If I'm correct, you can actually switch between several sets of maps of the same region.

I have OpenStreet maps of Australia and New Zealand on mine.

I live in Brazil but Garmin devices are way too expensive down here. I'm considering retiring my good old 935 and buy a brand new 945 on my vacation trip do Portugal next month. I know I won't have Garmin's official south american maps onboard, but can I use other free (or paid) maps on the device? If so, does anybody know good downloadable maps for this region? Thanks in advance for the support!

Per_Folkesson thanks for the advice. Is it easy to install these maps on a 945? Since I don't have one (expect to buy it next month) I can't try to install these maps yet...
