945 - crash when second CIQ data field added to app

I use the SingleField and Stryd Power data fields for running on my 945. All was working fine until 10 days ago. I dont think i made any changes, but something broke and I can no longer have both working at the same time. I can have one OR the other active, but as soon as I have one added in my running app, and try to add the other one, the watch crashes. It doesn’t matter in which order I do this. Has anyone else encountered this? Any idea what to try other than hard reset? I have tried soft reset (15 second power button hold), but that doesn’t help.

EDIT: As per badbri, this really turned out to be a case of the “high altitude bug”. As soon as I descended from high altitude closer to sea level, i can have two CIQ datafields again. Here’s to hoping that Garmin will address that bug...

Are you also at a significantly-different altitude/elevation than you normally are? There appears to be a bug when using 2 CIQ fields and in that scenario:

I think it has something to do with altimeter calibrations taking a memory hit. Since 2 CIQ fields is the "max" then maybe it's already close to the threshold and the altimeter calibration puts it over…

Nope, I am on 2.50 which was the latest until yesterday.

Done! And you were right - I have just descended towards LA and all is back to normal, i can have two CIQ fields again. Btw the new 2.64 beta seems to have a newer CIQ version. Did you try that yet? (I cannot as I am travelling without a computer, plus I am no longer in high altitude.)

No, I didn't see any reference to any bug fixes in the beta description so I didn't bother yet.

If it's a CIQ bug it wouldn't be in the beta description but in the CIQ changelog (which I looked at and it's quite long and cryptic)
