Totally not Satisfy

Purchased the 945 yesterday, Set it up with the below info

- Pulse OX only during sleep

- Screen bright on default

- Screen timeout the lower setting possible

- No sensors

- No workout done yet

- Watch on latest Firmware update

- Notifications enabled ONLY for calls and texts

- Light only enable for after Sunset

- Watch face is ActiFace https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/7ef071c3-4a14-4eb3-aca9-e3a531262711#0

The battery in just 24 hours dropped to 60% and the battery widget is showing that I only have 2 more days of battery remaining. Very frustrating that a 600 USD watch functions so poorly oh and also the buttons, they have no click like wtf?

Now as a test I am draining the battery and once it reach 5% I will factory reset the device, charge it to 100 and see if it works better, if not then this is going back to the store for sure. I had the 245 and return it because I wanted to have more battery and the altimeter but this 945 performs way lower than the 245.

  • Garmin,

Thank you for the response but still you should not close a thread just because you cannot resolve it via forum! The forum is a place for people to share common knowledge and tips! We all know the only way to fix issues is by calling you.

Closing the thread only show 2 things:

1- You do not care ( which I know you do but what you did shows otherwise )

2- You do not want people to see about the issue

Again, thank you do much for the support and I really hope you can fix the issues with the buttons getting stuck, if you do I will be happy to come back and buy one. Meanwhile I cannot because I am not rich and I work really hard for my money and when I pay 600 + Tax I expect to receive a working product free of defects.

    Thank you again

  • Agree with this, are they all affected?

Also does seem like the problem is being hidden by deleting the thread, isn’t the forum for hardware and software problems?

  • I'm on the 3rd unit, same crappy buttons

  • Uh oh. I’ve returned my second one and waiting for third - they said they would test the buttons on the new one before sending

  • I went to the store, returned it.

I then tested all 945 and 245 they had in stock and they all had the same issues! Some buttons worked fine and others did not.

  • I will give it a miss for now, it’s a shame but at this price point I’m not willing to play a lottery to get a functioning watch. Please sort it Garmin.

  • Ok just got my 3rd unit and the buttons appear to have the soft push before clicking issue - including the Start/Stop which my first two didn't have. And this point they are not mushy YET. I think I will hold on to this one until someone confirms the buttons are back to normal as per the 935. I don't understand how the exact same casing suddenly has this problem. Garmin acknowledge the issue but I have not heard if they plan to resolve the issue on future manufacturing of the 945.

  • @Stereo  Are you getting these replacements directly from Garmin?

        * Do they cross-ship the replacement, or

        * do you return yours and then have to wait for them to send the replacement - and if so, how long does that take?

The buttons on mine are working inconsistently, and the USB connection on the watch is a bit wobbly (not sure if that's a cable issue or the plugin part).

I'm still holding on to it, but I suspect at some point I'll be asking for a replacement (well past the return to store time)

  • Yes direct from Garmin here in Australia. They tell me to send it back, then they confirm by email that it had issues and then they offer to replace or refund. I got a replacement (twice). Very qucik and helpful with the returns but obviuosly at some point I'd like a returned one to actually not have issues ;) They said they would check the new one before sending but I don't think they did because the buttons are still not great and the box was sealed.

  • I hate to say this, but I decided to send the watch back. The buttons are bad and the battery life even worse. I don't want to file a support ticket within one week after buying the watch, this is something that Garmin has to fix this first. I don't want to play for public beta testing as this situation is suggesting. I really hop that Garmin is able to fix, I'm in the market to buy this watch agian, but only if the issues are confirmed fixed.
