Heat Acclimation at 100% and I suck at working out in the heat

My heat acclimation went from low 20's to 30's, 30's to 60's, 60's to 80's and now at 100%, all within the last 2 weeks and maybe 5-6 hours total of working out in the 80's*F.  Obviously 100% heat acclimation implies that my body is so adapted to the heat that the heat won't bother me anymore...just definitely not the case.  If it was a gradual increase over few months or years, I would understand. However, within 2 weeks must be wrong, right?

  • No it's not suggesting that heat won't bother you. It's likely suggesting that your'e as acclimatised to the heat as you are going to get.

  • In 2 weeks, our body has acclimated as much as it can. Adapted doesn’t mean that you would run or ride as good as if if was 8 degrees outside.
One of the adaptation is the increase of the blood volume (plasma). Your watch is just giving you an estimation of the level of your body adaptation. But at the end don’t expect miracle Wink

  • I thought the same thing, but I do notice that when I don't run in consecutive hot days, my heat tolerance definitely suffers.

  • For me, the heat acclimation appears to be quite accurate. I did a lot of runs around lunch time with over 30-35 deg celsius and my value increased to 100 in several steps. Then running in the heat felt a lot easier. Now I'm at 91 (92 yesterday) since temperatures dropped a bit, so it's still updating dynamically. For me, the value is quite realistic.
