What color is the buckle on the QuickFit 22 black silicone band?

I'm considering getting the QuickFit 22 black silicone band and can't tell from the website whether the buckle is slate (color of 945 buttons and buckle) or black. The description says 'black/black' but the buckle looks a bit lighter in the pictures than the ones on the other silicone band colors (which look truly black) and it says it's for the F5, which had a slate bezel. Does anyone know?

It's black.  I bought one a couple months back for my 935 and now use it on my 945.

  • How do you like it compared to the stock 945 band?

I can't comment because I put the QuickFit band on as soon as I unopened my 945 and never used the stock band.  The QuickFit's are comfortable and 100% reliable.  I have 5 different colors I bought for my 935 and I change them out on the 945 all the time.

  • Got it. If you ever tried the 935 strap (presumably the same as 945), would appreciate any comparison. Also, does the concave inner surface make it feel cooler (temperature-wise)?

Anyone know whether Garmin ever made a QuickFit 22 with a slate buckle given previous Fenix models had QuickFit and slate bezels?

  • Note that there are two different black silicone QuickFit 22 bands from Garmin - one is listed as Black/Black and the other as Black/Silver.  I have the Black/Black band, and can confirm that the buckle is indeed black rather than slate.  The buckle on the Black/Silver looks to be silver (not just a clever name).

The Black/Black band is a bit stiffer and thicker than the stock 945 band.  There is also a line running down the center of the band from the connection pins to the slots that is barely visible in the photos, but much more visible in real life.  The buckle on the Black/Black attached with Torx bolt/screw instead of a spring pin like the stock band.  The Black/Silver buckle looks to attach with a spring pin, so it may be possible to swap the slate buckle onto that one if that's what you want to do.

  • Thanks for the tips. Anyone know of high quality 3rd party black silicone QuickFit 22 bands with slate buckles?
