How does Body Battery work on Forerunner with Edge 1030 together?

someone here uses Forerunner 945 with Body Battery and Edge 1030 together?

how it works, when the Forerunner is my main Fitnesstracker and for cycling i use my Edge 1030 without Body Battery?

works Body Battery similar to INTENSITY MINUTES, Stress and include the time of my Edge Activity, because

Stress Measurement will be exclude on all devices, when there is a recorded activity?

@HermanB: you could possible help with an answer?

  • @Moderators: have any of you an answer for me, possible i want to replace my Fenix 5 with the new Forerunner, but before i want to know how it works with my Edge 1030 together?

or i have to record everyting on Forerunner and use Edge only in extended Display Mode, anyway, then Edge is the most expensive extended Display i have ever seen? GrimacingWink

  • not sure but think could be the answer to my question, as Garmin-Matthew answered in a different Thread:

    Q. ....When will my 1030 edge and my 945 have the same metrics so they are not screwing each other up?....

A: .... We are aware of this problem and this will be fixed in a future software update planned for August......

It's better to know to wait till august, as no answer! Wink

  • My 2 cents / experience: body battery is a fitness tracker feature. You don't need to record a activity to contribute it to the stress level / body batter indication however it will not be affected by true up so you need to wear the watch.

As our fellow user mentioned, my experience is that currently physio True Up between the edge 1030 and the forerunner is currently broken as the edge doesnt report the load and load focus for a new activity.

Currently I record my activity on the forerunner and discard the activity on the edge. This works fine in most cases for me, only structured trainings are not optimal as I would like to see my training goal in connect and starting the training activity on both devices at the same time is only working with auto start.

But this works for me your mileage might vary

  • body battery is something like training load/recovery time, it will be calculated true this metrics too, i think, stress measuring is offline, when you do a activity and it is not measured, same with body battery?

it's clear, that it is primary a fitness tracker feature, but what happens with the measuring, when i do a 4hours cycling activity with Edge, the body battery have to go down after finished the activity?

  • It's my understanding that Body Battery on your FR945 is not impacted by data recorded with your Edge 1030. I also am pretty sure that you don' need to record an activity with your FR945 for your activity to be factored into Body Battery, so that's good news. You just need to be wearing your FR945. The fact that you are physically active and a degree of intensity are automatically detected and used to update your Body Battery along the way.

    Hope that helped.

  • thx, now it's clear, atm i have a Fenix 5 without Body Battery, but would be very interesting metric! Raised hands
