Improving GPS overall - Data Recording setting vs GPS setting - what should I do?

I use my 945 exclusively to run around NYC, at the beach etc.  The default settings on this 945 is Data Recording set to "Smart" (instead of 1 second) and GPS set to "GPS Only" (instead of GPS + GLONASS // GPS + GAILILEO // UltraTrac).  I have left the default settings as is.

But I am wondering if this is what most do - I run in NYC around tall buildings and bridges and can see when I look at my run maps that the line gets all over the place under the bridges and also when I run under the bridges my pace displayed on the watch is way off.  Would this be helped if I switched to 1 second recording and/or GPS + GLONASS or GPS + GAILLEO?  Any help/suggestions would be appreciated - I know setting it to 1 second Data Recording means that the run activity upload will take longer, but is there a hit to my battery for this and better GPS?

Thanks.
