I have had my 945 now for about 2 months but my Lactate Threshold measurement is still empty after all this time? Does anyone know how Garmin suggests we trigger it? There isn't anything in the 945 manual that I can find.

Why not just di the test:
Open the run app, press up, select training, scroll down to LT test.
Using: http://bfy.tw/O8kG will bring up the first result:

if you just take your watch and try, you can see it. Be brave, use your watch!
So I've had my 945 now for 3+ months, run all sorts of miles on it, including races and it has never triggered a lactate threshold result, even with that autodetect setting as "on."
So I…
Were you able to run the test? As I’m planning on running the test tomorrow sometime.
Hi,
the same for me, I have device since May 2019 and device never detected new LTHR. In the past previous model 935 detected it just after about 3-4 weeks. I do 6 days trainings a week, I did also many races (halfmarathons, 10km nad 5km) in meantime and nothing. I will try to start test directly.
Unfortunately, the same for me. While I got frequently detections with my 630 and 935 (of course I only expect them when wearing my HRM-run), I have never seen it on my 945 (also own it since May).
So I will also give the guided test a try in the next weeks.
Sorry so late responding, I only just now ran the test early this morning. Here is the step by step for mine:
Warmup then press lap button
4 minutes in Zone 2
4 minutes in Zone 3
4 minutes in Zone 4
3 minutes in Zone 5
at the conclusion of the Zone 5 minutes it displayed my Lactate Threshold HR and Pace.
I did it on an extremely hot/humid morning here in SC so I take some of that with a grain of salt, particularly the Pace number. But it is what it is.
It won't detect in regular workouts unless those workouts meet specific criteria.
For me, I do a ton of trail running and only 1 road run a week, if that in many weeks actually. I suspect it HAS to be a road run to trigger and even then you need to run across multiple heart rate zones in order to meet the right criteria.
Hmm, I usually don’t do trail runs and did them during vacation and had two times a new LT detected.
