Display Resolution Distorted and Ghosted

Had a strange issue this morning where the display resolution appeared to be distorted (zoomed?), and the screen redraw was ghosting (not great photo below). This was happening on all display screen including boot screens, not just the 3rd party watch face.

The following actions did not correct this:

Multiple power cycles (long press Light to get controls -> power off, then Light to power on)
Changing watch face back to stock
Multiple power cycles after changing watch face back to stock
Sync to GCM

Finally connected to PC and it appear that all is now back to normal. Anyone else seen similar behavior?

Issue recurred this afternoon - this time sync with PC did not correct it. I performed a Master Reset, and seems to be good again.

Never saw that before. Your still under warranty, so I'd exchange it if it were me. Once, I may dismissed it, but twice tells me there's some kind of issue.

Agreed. Issue recurred overnight. Now trying a Secondary Master Reset, but looks more and more like a degrading hardware defect. I will get a case open with Garmin support and look to exchange with the retailer.

If possible, call support on the phone. It's much easier to communicate the issue and the process is quicker than using email.

Thanks for the tip. Case opened with Garmin via phone, and a replacement unit is on the way.

This is my first experience with Garmin support, and so far it has been a great one.

Hi there, the same issue happened to me over night on my FR935.

Probably it's a "hardware" problem: some pin detached or the display that moved.

Thanks for replying, it really looks like hardware problem. What is strange it happened overnight and I never wear my watch during sleep and my watch never fell and was never crashed...
