Forerunner 945 availability on Garmin website

is there any insight as to when this will be available for purchase on the garmin site? It said 2-3 weeks then 1-3 days now 2-3 weeks again.  I’m getting impatient but have to order through the site!

  • I'd recommend getting the tri bundle and selling the extra items if you don't want them. It's back up to 2-3 weeks, but at least you can order it and get yourself in the queue. I did this last month - order took 2 weeks to arrive and I've had the watch now for 2 weeks, love it.

I'm sorry - are you suggesting that the solution to Garmin's mismanagement of their inventory is for me to buy something I definitely don't want (more HRMs) for more money than I'm willing to spend on the item that I do want, and then *hope* I can sell the parts I don't?

I just spent literally months trying to sell a great set of tires for $100. After multiple people low balled me, and then flaked out, I got so frustrated with the process that I ended up literally giving them away.  I'm not about to take on being a 2nd hand retailer for Garmin because they can't get their act together.

It's been over three months since it was released and will likely be 4 before they get the watch back in stock, if not longer. Ridiculous.

It sounds to me like Garmik suggested an option.  No where was it mentioned that it  was a solution to what you feel is a mismanagement of inventory on Garmin's behave.   I wouldn't be surprised if several people use this recommendation to get a 945 quicker.  If you don't want to this, then don't.  There's really no reason to "snap back" with your sob tire story.
