Question on switching maps in the watch

I have the following maps in my watch

- the default topo usa active north

- US Pacific OSM topo

- topo 24K west

When I go to map app and select configure maps, I can turn the maps off and on and it reflects on the map. For example, when I turn everything off except topo 24k west, it shows in the app.

But when I go to Navigate app and select 'course' and then 'map', the course always shows on the US Pacific OSM topo eventhough I have it turned off through the map app. Same with the map screen on the hike activity

Is there another place I need to configure the maps so it shows appropriately under navigate? I only see one place which is through the settings in the 'Map' app that I can turn the maps on and off.

Any clue?

ok..solved it myself, but leaving it for anyone else with the same confusion.

Looks like you have to go to settings->activities & apps-> select an activity->activity settings->map and there you configure maps just for that activity...

.. which, bytw, is an excellent feature, so that you can have different maps loaded by default for different activities.
