Baclklight Gesture Bug (not during activity)

I am new to Garmin and been playing with the watch.

I am currently on firmware 2.48 beta.

I am unable to get the backlight to turn on using gesture (regardless after sunset or ON) and this bug is only in "not during activity".

Gesture works normally in "during activity" mode.

Any ideas what I might have missed?

Have you checked if the 'Do not disturb' was on when you tried it [like during the set sleep times]? If it is, then the backlight won't turn on as far as I know...

Hi Mario,

I have tested and it works as expected on my watch. After sunset, gesture turns on back light. Before sunset does not. This is for both during and not during activity.

I downgraded it to 2.40 and set it up without pairing to the phone and it works. Will experiment some more. Thanks for the help guys!

I have the same. My gesture is very hot and miss. Even for looking at texts that come in. Have I been ignoring I have a duff watch or is it a bug?

Gestures work for me but its slow to react so I have to spend another second or so looking at my watch. I know 1 second doesnt seem like a lot but when running, esp longer or faster runs, this little bit of inefficiency is inconvenient.

Working absolutely fine today...I have no idea. I was trying it during the time I was supposed to be sleeping but I turned all that off and it was not working. But right now it is fine. Just one of those things I guess.

On my 945 with 3.08 Beta i have the problem that gestures do only work during an Activity if i have them enabled also in "not in activity mode", and then it still does not work properly - i have to turn my wrist several times to turn on the light.

I just realized that as its getting dark very soon already and i went for a run.

Any ideas or suggestions to test or solve this issue? Super annoying that this super useful Thing does not work anymore

For me on beta 3.08 also doesn't work during activity. Will check your workaround...

Same problem with the backlight in "during aktivity" mode here since upgrading to 3.08 beta. If you also set the backlight to "On" in "Not during activity" mode, then it will work more or less - but the backlight will turn on all the time - which is pretty annoying and consumes a lot of battery power.

Software 3.08 Beta - Backlight Troubles

Since upgrading to 3.08 Beta, my 945 backlight works bad in every condition.

During...

Not during...

Gesture OFF or ON...

Timeout... 8 seconds... No Timeout...

Turn on (or doesn't turn on) with no reason.

Other times I have to turn strong my wrist a lot of times to turn on the light, even if in "Timeout" I choose "No Timeout"

Since I run early in the morning or late in the evening, I would prefer to have the light turned on all the time, but it doesn't work.
