Cannot connect to RD Pod

My new FR945 doesn't detect the RD Pod. Anyone experiencing this issue?

I used the RD Pod with FR935 without any issues for some time. I removed the RD pod from my old watch before trying to connect it to the new one. FR945 has the 2.4 update.

I tried to remove the battery from RD Pod for a couple of minutes, still cannot connect after that.

Any ideas what to try?

I was able to connect mine without issue. Try reconnecting it to your 935 to verify the battery is ok. If it is, I would try doing a hard reset on the 945 and try connecting again.

I had some problem to connect to a Garmin footpod that works great with my old watch FR610. My solution was to try multiple times and reboot the watch three or for times till the watch found the footpod. There is definitely something not ok with ANT+ sensor, very difficult to connect. Also my heart rate monitor Scosche can connect with bluetooth, but the watch doesn't connect with ANT+. I will probably call Garmin support, hoping that a future firmware upgrade could improve the ANT+ connection.

I'm seeing just the opposite with ANT+ connections between my 935 and 945. The 945 is working great. I'd have to be right on top of my Tempe sensor and try several times to get it to connect to my 935. With my 945, I can start an activity and the Tempe connects no problem from 20 feet away through a wall.

I should say that I am also quite surprise, because one of the reason why I bought the 945 is that I read in the comments of other users in this forum that it has great performance in connecting to sensors both via ANT+ and bluetooth. In my case bluetooth works great, ANT+ is giving me problems.

I occasionally have problems with ANT+. I start an activity and no sensors can be found, either those connecting via the sensor pool on the watch or those connecting direct to a datafield like the Stryd power meter. The only way to make it work is to reboot th watch . After that it connects without fail and I have not once seen a dropped connection during an activity.

Restarting the watch fixed the problem!!! The pod connected on the first try after restart.

The batery is ok. I restarted the clock and now the pod connects without issues.

I’ve had the same problem: couldn’t connect to ANT sensors. Turning the watch off and back on fixed it.

I never had the problem with my 935 and the same sensors.
