Headphones powering down when i go to activities

I can listen to music all day, but as soon as i hit the start button to select an activity the headphones will shut down.

They do not loose connection, they shut off as if i intentionally shut them down by long-pressing the power-button.

The headphones are "Jabra Elite Active".

Firmware of Forerunner 945 is 2.40.

Update: The activity screen will also kill the bluetooth connection between my smartphone and the headphones.

As long as i am on the activity-screen my headphones will constantly shut off and reconnect to my smartphone.

Completely removing the headphones from the watch does not help. The watch will still kill the bluetooh connection from phone to headphones.

Update 2: I put the watch into HR broadcasting and this again killed all connectivity to the headphones.

Therefore i have to conclude that these headphones are not properly dealing with "interference" (or whatever) from ANT+ signals.

Unfortunately this probably means there is no possibility to fix this.

  • What happens if you turn Bluetooth off on your phone?

I have a similar issue. Also with Jabra Elite Active. Headphones connect nicely to FR945, but as soon as i start an activity, the headphones disconnect. There is a "shut-down-sound", but the earphones dosen't actually shut down, just disconnects.

In reality this now means that I can't listen to music while exercising. Fatal flaw for this kind of equipment. I hope the will be some kind of fix to this. Otherwise this watch is useless.

Solved. The issue was that FR945 identifies JEA as a footpod (FP).

    Solution:

    * Remove "FP Jabra..." under "Sensors and..." (I also removed and reinstalled the "no-FP" JEA)

    * When you go to activities FR945 will ask you to add "FP Jabra...". Just say no.

Now it works like a charm...!

  • Thanks so much Bruno.

Was on the verge of returning these awesome earphones, but they now work fine.  Very pleased!

  • Likewise, I was just about to send back to Amazon when I decided to do a search :-) Thank you.

  • Thank you so much, this was sooo frustrating.

Thank you SO much for posting this. Nearly went insane trying to troubleshoot.

  • Thank you for posting. Had the same issue. Added music from amazon this morning, had already paired my jabra elite active 65t yesterday. Played music fine from my desk but didn't start the run activity. Needless to say was pissed when i went to run and music kept turning off or headphones power cycling.............Works like a charm now. SHould have thought of removing the headphones and adding back on as headphones before running. Oh well. Have tunes for running tomorrow.

Thank you for posting this. After pairing and unpairing, adding and removing for half an hour I wanted to throw my watch. Glad I didn't. Thanks for finding and posting the solution.
