I have seen US reviews getting great positioning results with GPS + Glonass, has anyone tried GPS + Galileo? What's the best setting for the UK?

I'm pretty sure the watches with the new Sony chipset are coming with GPS+GLONASS as default. My understanding is that's because Garmin is 'tuning' the chip using that setting. That does not mean it's…
So far i'm only using GPS and my tracks are no worse or slightly better than my Fenix 5x+ was with GPS+Glonass
Garmin suggest GPS+GLONASS as the best setting that’s why it’s default.
Same here. European model. "GPS Only" by default.
Bizarre. I think I remember seeing DC Rainmaker saying it was default as well :-?
+1 for ”GPS only" as default on mine...European model
UPDATE: I did a 10km race through open and built up areas and it clocked 10.0km with GPS + Glonass. I initially had it on GPS + Galileo but it was struggling for a lock at the start line. Switched to GPS+Glonass and it locked on and was incredibly accurate.
For comparison, someone using an older garmin in the same race struggled to get signal for the first 500m. Very impressed so far!
Hi, could you share an update please.
Still using same setting GPS+GLONASS?
Still working as accurate as described during your 10K race?
Thanks in advance.
Hello! Yes absolutely still very happy with the accuracy and consistency, I'm now on GPS + Galileo as an experiment which seems to be slightly less accurate than Glonass but nothing crazy.
I'm pretty sure the watches with the new Sony chipset are coming with GPS+GLONASS as default. My understanding is that's because Garmin is 'tuning' the chip using that setting. That does not mean it's the best setting for where you are. I've found that up here in the Southern Hemisphere, that it makes little difference what setting I use so mine is on GPS only most of the time. That said, I have other watches on different settings for comparison and generally see nothing to get excited about with the different tracks.
